Nigeria To Prepare COVID-19 Budget

The Nigerian government says it is preparing a supplementary budget to be sent to the National Assembly to cater for COVID-19 vaccines and vaccination.

This development comes amidst fears by some Nigerians that the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic was all a ruse to fund excesses of corrupt government officials.

But not minding the negative impression, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed hinted that the Federal Government would in March prepare a budget for vaccination to be sent to the National Assembly for approval.

Speaking at the maiden edition of State House briefing held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday, Ahmed also indicated that the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines will arrive the country next week.
