Lagos Transport Sector Reform Bill Now Awaiting Governor’s Assent

The ‘Lagos State Transport sector Reform (Amendment) Bill 2018’ has become a Law after scaling the third reading during Thursday’s plenary on the floor of the Lagos House of Assembly.

It will be recalled that the Transport Sector Reform Amendment Bill 2018, which was singlehandedly proposed and championed by the chairman, House committee on transportation in the Lagos state House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Temitope Adedeji, was laid before the House during plenary on Monday.

The bill however have been Passed into Law and the good People of Lagos State and the whole sector are now expected to experience an improvement in the whole activities of the sector..

Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji have shown over time his readiness to serve the good people of Lagos State and Ifako – Ijaiye 01 in particular with his numerous achievements speaking volumes.

Being a first timer in the Lagos State House of assembly with such a greater input in a short time, shows that the narratives is not as usual.

It must also be noted that the Rt Hon Speaker, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa be commended for his excellent performance and resolve to give the younger legislators responsibility after mentoring them in the rudiments of law making.

With this Bill into Law, the THEMES agenda of the Lagos State government is taking great shape as the transport sector, which is the first letter of the THEMES agenda forms the most integral part of the economy.

The bill however awaits the executive assent for it to become the Lagos state Transport Sector law of 2021.
