BREAKING: Federal Government Extends NIN Deadline Again

The are strong indications that the Federal Government will soon announce an extension to the ongoing registration of the National Identity Number (NIN) till 30 June

 

Reports say  presidential committee has recommended the latest extension following a huge success recorded in the last nine months with  about 54 million Nigerians captured by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The NIMC is expected to make an official announcement soon following approval by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Federal Government has decided to curtail the activities of Boko Haram insurgents, bandits, fraudsters and cybercriminals with the NIN-SIM linkage policy.

The government may also lift the ban on new SIM registration but with new software which may make proxy registration difficult.

It is the fourth time the deadline for the registration of NIN is being extended by the Federal Government.
