The primary election which was held by the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Lagos on Saturday 29th May has not stopped trending for various reasons, including the positives and the negatives.

The story was the same in Oluwole, Ogba where the party primaries for Ward A in Ojodu Local Council Development Area was held, as there was an attempt to disrupt a peaceful election from unexpected quarters.

Footage from a viral video shows the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Housing, Toke Benson- who was working with the backing of the sitting chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Engineer Muyiwa Oloro-attempting to disrupt the peaceful primary election process that was going but for the intervention of the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the state, Honourable Lola Akande who was there present to also cast her vote for her candidate of choice.

Thousands of people had gathered at the venue to exercise their civic rights and majority were ready to vote for Alhaja Kafayat Funmilayo Layeni (KFL) as the party’s flag bearer at the coming Local Government election on July 24.

However, for reasons best known to them, Toke Benson and Hon. Oloro were seen in the video telling the APC state chairman on the phone that there was crisis and that the election should be cancelled. Thankfully Hon. Lola Akande, immediately resisted the disruption.

The election eventually held peacefully at Ogba Primary School and the results were favourable to Alhaja Layeni and the councilor of Ward A, Hon. Tunji Kogbodoku.
